Octopus in a cup!

Children’s book “Sophie and Max Show Some Ocean Love” was inspired by both my experiences scuba diving, and underwater videos that have touched my heart. Below is one of the videos that inspired Sophie and Max to help a little octopus on their dive of discovery.

Shared by Pall Sigurdsson: while diving in Indonesia, divers found this little octopus sheltering in flimsy plastic cup, and made offerings to the little fella of empty shells found in the vicinity. In a very Goldilocks-esque fashion, the octopus investigates each offering, turning shells down until it is finally offered one that is just right. Isn’t he just so sweet? I love that divers are very conscious of helping our underwater world where they can. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did (do)!
